Mount Jabalcón
The Best Viewpoint in the Altiplano
Mount Jabalcón is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in the Altiplano de Granada, rising dramatically above the plains near Zújar and Lake Negratín. Standing at 1,492–1,494 metres, this limestone mountain offers 360º panoramic views across the entire region, making it one of the best viewpoints in the Granada Geopark.
You can drive or hike to the top, where you’ll find the Ermita de la Virgen de la Cabeza, communication towers, and breathtaking scenery stretching from the Altiplano to the surrounding sierras. The mountain is also a popular launch site for paragliders, thanks to the flat land that surrounds it.
At the foot of Jabalcón are the Baños de Zújar, natural thermal waters that stay above 30°C all year round, heated by underground geothermal activity — perfect for a relaxing soak after your climb or drive.
Whether you’re looking for a scenic viewpoint, a gentle adventure, or simply a stunning place to take photos, Mount Jabalcón is one of the must‑see natural highlights of the area.
